Plan To Succeed! Shop Smart. Shop Healthy.

Why You Need A Shopping Plan to Stay on Track!
Impulsive buying is a fact. It’s a bad habit & mindless behavior that will surely detour your efforts to create a healthier lifestyle.

How may times do you go to the store and those darn end caps, or “Can we have this?” children, and let’s not forget those wondering spouses that throw a real wrench into the shopping trip. You return home and realize you’ve purchased so many things that were NOT on the list!!! This can drive you crazy! It use to drive me crazy!

Of course, I would blame everyone else for interfering. The truth of the matter was we did NOT have a plan. We did not have a shopping strategy. I would jot down notes but I would not truly plan our shopping trip UNTIL we decided and committed to creating a healthier lifestyle.

We created a healthy grocery shopping list for ourselves every time we need to shop for groceries. Didn’t matter if we were picking up a few things or shopping for the month, WE MADE A LIST & STUCK TO IT! We find this list to be very helpful. It allows us to commit to our shopping plan. It also helps us CONTROL how we shop around the grocery store. No longer do we permit ourselves to just “camp out” at the store like we’re visiting the local zoo! Every aisle does not require our visitation! We do not have to visit the candy, the crackers, the chips — ok, maybe the chips — but you get the point.

Your healthy food list helps you to define your strategy; putting into place a real plan & a real course of action that WORKS!

Today, our shopping experience is very different. We spend 90% of our time shopping on the outskirts of the store – we pick up our favorite deli meats, fresh fruit & veggies, lean meats, dairy, whole grains/breads, & frozen fruits/veggies. Our field trips to the middle aisles are very strategic…cereals, condiments, herbs/spices, cleaning supplies, teas & coffee…and that, my friend, is when it’s time to CHECK OUT!

As always, thank you for time, love & support. We hope what we have shared has helped you. Be sure to share this info with family & friends.
