Weight loss or optimal health?

During your favorite television show, have you noticed the number of commercials promoting new weight loss products, diet programs, or pharmaceutical drugs to aid in your weight loss efforts?

Have you really paid attention?

Well, we did.

The other day, we were watching something on TV and the first commercial aired featured a weight loss prescription drug specifically for overweight or obese individuals. The commercial begins with an overweight woman sitting at a table with several empty plates. The first thing you hear is a voice in the background that states, “Those who are struggling with their weight know it goes beyond willpower…”

Does it really? Is the struggle with weight REALLY beyond your willpower?

Here’s the truth. Willpower is a choice. It’s a commitment to that choice.

So, let’s revisit the commercial. Instead of using the word “willpower,” use the word “choice” and ask the question again. Is the struggle with your weight BEYOND your choice? If that’s the case, how does this weight loss pill absolve you of the struggle?

Think about this: the same discipline required to take a pill every morning, at 7 o’clock to control your weight is the same discipline required to stop eating after a certain hour. It’s also the same discipline required to get active 3-5 days a week and to stay properly hydrated.

It’s the same.

It’s not magical. It’s not wrapped up in a different color pill. It’s not shaped different. It’s a CHOICE…To do or not to do.

It’s just a choice and you are the only one who can make it. The pill can’t make it for you. The pill may do something psychologically to help curb your appetite but at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself what do you really want. Do you want just weight loss or do you want optimal health?

If you notice, there are certain things stated in the commercial, key phrases like “it MAY help.” That’s a big chance. Yet, when you look at the fine print, it specifically states “WITH DIET & EXERCISE.” Again, if you still have to have some type of control over your diet and exercise, what is the pill really doing for you?

As always, thank you for time, love & support. We hope what we have shared has helped you. Be sure to share this info with family & friends.
