How many times have you told yourself you do not have willpower? How many times have you told yourself you couldn’t do what it takes to achieve what you perceive to be impossible in your life? How many dreams have you given up?
Could it be that you believe you do not possess what it takes?
Here’s the truth: you have what it takes! How do we know this about you? Because we all have the ability to choose. Don’t allow yourself to believe you have no willpower. Willpower is not a special gene or a magical pill sold on HSN; willpower is simply combining your willingness to change with your power to choose.
What we know for certain is God did not place anything inside of us that He did not place in you.
Your issue is not about not having willpower or having what it takes; your issue is about “wanting” what it takes…wanting all the things that come with achieving those things you want to achieve. Ask yourself these 3 questions:
1. Do I want to change?
2. Do I want to do the work?
3. Am I WILLING to change?
If your answer is “no” to any of those questions, it simply means you are not ready to change. Your lack of readiness has nothing to do with willpower. When you say “no,” you are exercising your control. You are exercising your choice. Your choice is clearly a reflection of your willingness to change & your power to choose. You chose “No.”
Think about this: Willpower is defined as the ability to control or restrain yourself. So, when you say you have no will power; what you are truly saying is you can’t control yourself. Too many of us get hung up on this lack of “willpower” excuse because it allows us to evade accountablility for our decisions. If you can’t control you, who can?
Understand this, nothing will change until you do. So we ask you, “What are you willing to change?”
